Harold Schaaf
Harold met and married his current wife, Chris, in 1981. One day, he climbed up into an 18 wheeler and started driving for a living. He drove for several years but disliked being away from home so much. He did enjoy seeing the countryside and even tried living in California for 2 years in the late '80's before moving to the Brighton area fourteen years ago.
The last few years, Harold has worked for a family-owned sanitation company. He says it's a smelly job, but pays good. AND, every once in a while, you do come across some good stuff. Like the time this lady was mad at her boyfriend and threw away his whole set of Craftman's tools!
Recently Harold and Chris started doting on the the newest member of their family - a CFA Registered Maine Coon kitten.
Unfortunately, on Jan, 16, 2006, Harold suffered a mild stroke. The doctors say it mostly affected his short-term memory so Harold says he should be able to remember all of his classmates!
He also enjoys fishing, camping and going to the drag races, and says "other than that, my life is pretty normal".
I want to personally thank both Harold and Chris for their attendance at the various "mini-reunions" we've hosted over the past year. It's been a real pleasure for me to get to know them. They're both looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion, so be sure to say hello!!!

I'll say hello right now to an old (as in we go way back) friend. Harold always was and is a good guy. Looking forward to seeing you and Chris again soon.
Hello Harold. Putting the gray aside, you look just like your senior pic. I think my last cat was part Maine Coon...he grew to be 18 pounds. They get really big but have mild dispositions.
I agree with Helen--you look exactly the same. People could ask you that question that strikes terror into the hearts of women everywhere: "Have you had work done?"
So glad that the effects of the stroke were not devastating & I'm looking forward to seeing you and meeting your wife at the reunion.
What a fine looking couple. A kitten is so much fun and Maine Coon cats are beautiful. I have one cat left, a himalayan named Sweetpea, and she will probably be my last cat unless one comes knocking on my door. Not that I don't love cats but I don't need any more pets.
Harold, I hope you and Chris enjoy you kitten and it's good to see you on the blog.
Hey now don't feel sorry for Harold and his cerebral vascuar accident, he can still out-drive most people I know, you have to see him drive Joe's vet, yeah there is nothing wrong with his noggin, he is as oonnry as ever.Chris is the one you gotta feel sorry for, she is actually crazy in love with the dude.
