Got nothing exciting to tell, thank goodness. Tuesday was beautiful so Doc and I got the garden ready..put the gourd arbors out and planted potatoes. Today we took the baby to Jerseyville to look at all the baby chicks at the farm store..she enjoyed that. Then we had lunch at the New Moon in Cottage Hills. That’s the first time I’ve been in there in years. My Reuben sandwich was good and everyone enjoyed their huge cheeseburgers and onion rings.

Since this is an open forum I want to thank everyone that checked out my blog and got their city/state on my map. I know that Larry D. Cheryl, Rich, Carla, and Debbie V were there but there were some others as I saw S.Roxana, Granite City, Edwardsville and Urbana on the live traffic feed. If you mention here that you were there I’ll add your name to the list for a prize drawing. Just go to my blog http://littleroundladygourds.blogspot.com/ but then come back here and mention it as the prize(s) will be for classmates only. I’ll have the drawing in another few weeks.

Linda, I love weddings when I go as a guest but having to do the planning is stressful...I could only stand one every few years. Told daughter #2 not to even think about it until we all recover from daughter #1..and it's not until September. Seems the longer we have to plan the more stuff gets added to the list. I'm all for elopements.

I was there Helen..possibly twice. Seems to me it registered as St. Louis. It's charter, so who knows?

Done the wedding thing x 3. That old rule that the brides parents pay for everything didn't work x 2 with us.
I feel your pain. And joy.
And if someone would have asked I would have voted for elopement.

We have two weddings to go to next year. One in November and one in December. Manny's neice and nephew in New York are getting married...not to each other. Ha!Looks like we'll be making two trips to NY. I say we just rent an RV and stay from one wedding to the other. We could get an old ratty looking RV like cousin Eddie in the movie Christmas vacation and park in in from of Manny's brothers house. That would go over real good with their neighbors. Of course we'd bring all 4 dogs, the cat, and birds.

Yep, Bob and Mona I see you on the map and Lois I come up as St. Louis too and sometimes Godfrey(??)
I'm looking forward to the actual day..the days leading up to it are kind of headache. But we have most everything taken care of so far with the exception of the cake so that's next. Now if I could get rid of my winter insulation so I'll fit into my mother of the bride outfit...I should lay off the Reubens.

We have a wedding in our future also but will not be attending. My youngest decided to get married on the beach and were not talking in the United States. But thats fine by me as I have nothing I have to do for this one but will miss seening it. Keep telling her it stil would be cheaper at the court house and reception after. Other than the wedding the most exciting thing in my household is having 1 of my hounds coming back from her morning run smelling like her favorite spring smell skunk at 4:30 am Tuesday. Thank the good lord for cheap tomato juice.

Nothing much goin' on here, either. I got a Turkey Tag to hunt, again this year. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will be a productive hunt.
The list of spring chores is growing and the warm weather is dragging its feet. I can hardly wait to get up to the lake and open up the RV. It should be a fun summer. But, for now, cleaning up the yard and the garage is about all I can do, 'till the snow is gone. Just really glad its finally getting warmer.

I was tryin to post a pic of the snow we got and couldn't do it. Just as well, I'm sure none of you wanted to be thinking SNOW on the last day of March.

Snow??? Is that the white wet stuff that falls from the sky and makes the ground white and the roads slippery? We had snow one day this year and it lasted exactally one day.
Good news for NC. We are finally getting rain and maybe they will lift the water restrictions so I can get my car washed. My blue car has turned icky yellow from all the pine pollen.

Carla, I wish we could all will you water, we have had soooo much around here the ground will not take anymore. Joe just bout lost the Tundra in the front yard swamp mud. Funniest thing I ever saw but I didn't volunteer to help get him out. I just stayed in the house, peering out the window, laughing myself silly. It is amazing what passes for intertainment when your'e retired.

Bob and Mona, thanx so much, its just nice to know there is someone there till I can hop a plane. Well in this day and age with American Airlines, it would be faster for me to drive. My son was just there to visit Terri in Encinita's and had his flight cancelled. he was happy to stay another night with his sister but his boss wasn't.
