How quickly the time passes...

It's hard to believe that a full year has passed since our class was together at our 35th reunion, but alas, another 12 months have flown by. It was so wonderful to see everyone again last year after many years apart. Several of our troops gathered again at this year's homecoming. I am very regretful that I was not one of the group, and after looking at these pictures, I miss you all just that much more.
Lois provided these pictures.

I SO wanted to get down there for the weekend but at the last minute I had to work. Lois sent me some pictures so I got to "see" the people who were there. HI EVERYBODY!! I was disappointed to not get there. Hopefully next year....
I also wanted to add my thoughts and prayers to the families of those people we've recently lost. SO many too soon. Very sad. Janet's loss of her son hit pretty close to home for me as it was around this time of year that my parents lost my sister at the beginning of our Junior year. No parent ever fully recovers from a tragedy like this. I hope that she's doing as well as can be expected. All of these deaths are so so sad.
On a happier note, I was able to get together with Lois, Steve and 2 of his daughters a few weeks ago. It was GREAT, love them both! If any of you see/hear from Steve ask him about fixing my bathroom door. Too funny! His new name is Macgyver, but in a twisted way....
I'm hoping that with the weather getting cooler soon (except for you lucky people in the south & west) that more people will be indoors and will maybe get on here more often. I'd hate to see it lapse. I try to get on and then realize that I've forgotten my password or some other stupid thing that's required and then I get frustrated and just give up. God, I hate being such a goof! Today I wrote EVERYTHING down that I need (hopefully, I won't forget where I put the info)to get on so maybe I'll be able to write more often. Linda, I really appreciate all your efforts to keep this up & running. I know it must be frustrating for you to put forth the effort and then not have many people try to keep the ball in the air. I promise I'll try to do better.
Bill Robinson, if you're out there somewhere, your EIU Panthers gave me a scare last weekend! If our defense is supposed to be the cornerstone of the Illini, we're going to be in some BIG Trouble this year.
Take care everybody!
Hair tie and a maxi pad.
Sorry i missed everyone. Oh well always next year as long as dirt isnt being throwed in my face LOL. Everyone still looks great. Be safe all Cyasssssssssssss....Steve
My thoughts and prayers go out to those families and classmates who have lost lovedones. May God be with each of you.
I, too, enjoy seeing the pictures. It would have been a fun time to see everyone who was able to get back for the Homecoming.
A trip south is not on the agenda this fall. Yes, it is officially FALL at our house. It's 39 here this morning and I had to turn on the furnace. Only 3 more weeks and the RV gets closed up for the winter. My list of chores is long, so the next few weeks will be very busy with closing up the lake place and doing all the things that were replaced with fishing and campfires and outings with the Grand Boys. We made some great memories, but the Grand Boys are now back in school and it won't be long before everything will be frozen and covered in snow. There will be plenty of time for rest and quiet once the weather changes. I will miss the sound of the loons, children swimming on the beach and sitting quietly by the fire in the evening when all have gone in for the night.
I, too, pledge to visit here more often. We don't want this blog to just fade away. It is good to stay in touch with you all.
Thanks Linda.
The 'class of 98' is meeting this year on Sept 20th at Pete's in Alton if you have any children that graduated that year and do not know about it yet or contact Terri Mitchell terri@ideaworksadvertising.com. or contact Shanna Bruening Combs
Sure wish I could have been at the Homecoming. Even though I have been away for over 20 years, Bethalto is still my hometown.
Glad to welcome some folks back to the blog. We have missed you.
