Hello, from David Black

Here's David Black's response to a letter I mailed him awhile back.
Hi Linda, sorry this took so long to get back to you, like most other people, I have too much to do, and not enough time!
I will try to answer some of the questions on the list you sent me.
- was married for 13 years, divorced now for 9.
- one daughter age 16.
- three college degrees now, pre-engineering, computer science, psychology.
- working as an electronic technician, in an engineering lab, Rockwell-Collins Radio Corproation, Cedar Rapids, Iowa...working at the same company for 33 years now!
-hobbies: amateur radio, computers, electronics, reading, good discussions about most everything.
-if money was not an issue, what would I do... travel!
-anything interesting to tell classmates... yes, I will tell two quotes that are my favorites.
"It is what you learn after you know it all that really counts" Harry Truman
"Live every day as if it was your last, because one day it will be" anonymous
Please let me know if there will be a class memory book. I don't think I'll be able to attend the reunion but I would enjoy reading what everybody has been doing.
Thanks for writing to me and taking the time to put things together and I hope the reunion is a success.
Also, I have included a picture of me in this message, feel free to share it with anybody that is brave enough to view it!
Signed, David Black

ah, david black. we go way back. a guy i think about from time to time. have friends who teach at a university near him. almost asked them to look him up for me once. david, if you read this, shoot me an email. you can find me at the university of illinois.
David,
Sure wish we could talk to you into attending the EVENT OF THE CENTURY on 9/1/07!
When I saw your picture, my first thought was "Wow, he's so extinguished!"
That's actually a good thing in my family - my dad always used "extinguished" instead of "distinguished"! He would also say "piss-a-deared" instead of "disappeared" so it really could be worse! My dad was a wannabe comedian!
Hope to hear more from you.
Dave....good to hear from ya....we also go way back...I haven't kept up w/ the Ham radio but sounds like we're long time workers in mildly related areas of the electronics industry......I like to say I'm loosly related to the entertainment industry....sounds more exciting...;-) wish you could make it to the reunion....would enjoy visting w/ ya...or drop an email this direction if ya get the chance....
Wow, David--another small town boy makes good. Congratulations on all your acclomplishments. I barely got 1 degree, can't imagine 3. I agree with the others and hope that you cna make it back for the reunion. such an "extinguished" guy ought to be there. Linda, your Dad might have beena wanna be comedian but I thought it was funny (after I realized it wasn't a misprint)
