Good 'cover' story, Maybe Dr. Beret should write science fiction cause that would be believable too. Glad I finally got to see the reunion van though and absolutely everybody at said reunion. You guys did a super job on this one.

yes, hitchhiker did indeed show up in the familiar form of dann adair and it took some doing. he hadn't even seen the blog until the monday before reunion. when he saw it and began reading, he caught fire. a day or two later, he was looking at flights. somewhere in there he began to blog as hitchhiker, the character i had created with him in mind. we planned nothing, but pretty soon we were dennis bottoms and gary null trading licks on our instruments as a song called "dr. beret and hitchhiker" formed. thursday morning he emailed to tell me he'd purchased his ticket and he'd meet us at the beer tent soon after seven. like a real-life hitchhiker, he was delayed when his plane had to land soon after it took off. we stayed in phone contact throughout the evening until he finally got to the beer tent around 11:30, at which point linda and mona had to eat their words. it was a lovely thing.
Lois, Deb P. opted out. It was way more fun I think for her to get to see everyone that night.And I agreed with her.Pretty much what we dealt with were kids fighting,didn't even get to tase anyone.
Steve, glad the hitchhiker made it in just in time for you to make him into a reality.
