Lucky Winner!

Me, the camera bug...this is the ONLY picture that I shot last evening at our fantastic reunion, but it is a good one!

Connie Schutzenhofer Schmidt was the very lucky winner of the Helen Downing Eyers one-of-a-kind-class-of-1972-35th-reunion-commemorative gourd doll. I am in mourning, but still happy for Connie because I know that she will appreciate this special prize. Connie, please put me in your will. -Gwennie

Congrats Connie. I thought her name was Laura?

I too coveted this gourd. (coveting a gourd may require some therapy)
Yet, I must say, I was happy to see Connie win this because I know she'll give it a good home.
I overheard Helen say she will not make another one, so it is definitely one of a kind!

One of the highlights of my evening was the look on Connie's face as I was walking toward her with the gourd..priceless. Absolutely worth all the time and effort I put into it. Congratulations Connie!

Helen, I think you should reconsider this "one of a kind" effort and commit your next year to the class of 72. Well, maybe not the whole year. But, I can't help believe that there would be plenty of us willing to pay an arm and a leg to proudly display such artistic work by one of our own. Put me on your list if you change your mind. Again, congratulations Connie.

I had a great time at the reunion. We were impressed with everything, the food, the decorations, the door prizes, entertainment. Everything was really great and the committee did a wonderful job. It was a lot of work and they deserve a big thank you. I love my 72 reunion gourd and everyone who sees it loves it too! I tell them a very talented girl I graduated with painted it. Dave has a great appreciation for even growing gourds that nice. He knows the work going into it just getting it ready to be painted!
Hope to keep in touch with everyone through the blog and maybe even run into a few around town. It was great to see so many from out of town too!

Sheri, I don't know about that..possibly something a lot smaller and little less detailed..I will have to think about it. By the way, I apologize for the ID button prank my husband played on you..but it sure was funny! He said he did it to a few others..no we didn't have a Lonnie in our class but Southwestern did.

He DID get me! Smart move on his part...at least it made me study those buttons a little closer the rest of the night.
