What to do next year?

For our classmate, Helen Eyers, it's been two action packed years. Last year, she worked diligently for months on plans for our 35th class reunion, and this year, she's been working for months on preparations for her daughter's wedding. I can attest that both events would have suffered greatly without her.
Chessie Eyers became the bride of Michael Brame on September 13. Unfortunately, I have no photos of the beautiful bride and her new hubby (guess we were too busy talking to grab that shot), but here's a pic of Lois, Helen, and I at the reception held at the Masonic Temple in downtown Alton. The hall was decorated wonderfully and the cake, made by our own Donna Newman Limpert, was topped with Helen's gourd creation in the likeness of Chessie and Mike. As you can see, it was adorable! Helen also made the dresses for the flower girls (granddaughter, Mya was one of them) and they were precious.
Here's the Telegraph link to Chessie & Mike's engagement: http://www.thetelegraph.com/articles/eyers_16782___article.html/brame_graduate.html

YES, WHAT CARLA SAID!
Great job on the gourds, too. Thanks for the pics. I like them too.
Congratulations and all the best to Chessie and Michael.
Someone out there must have a pic to post of the happy couple. C'mon, get it on here.

Thanks everyone! I've just sent some pictures to Gwen including one of our trolley disaster. We rented a trolley to take the bridal party to LCCC for a photo opt in front of the fountain.. Well, the first trolley shows up and had to be towed away because the brakes went out. The second Trolley shows up.. its all open and we had specifically asked for an enclosed one due to all the small children aboard. So we hung onto the kids for dear life and headed out.(The wind whipped my nicely straightened hair into curls :-( Then as we were going down Humbert road (you guys remember that road?) the trolley blew out a tire! So we're stuck in front of somebody's yard for 45 minutes. The photographer took pictures in front of a stranger's home (with their permission)in their yard. Don't know what they first thought when they saw a party of about 30 people in their yard. The 3rd trolley shows up which this time is a tiny enclosed box and we all sat on each others lap all the way to the reception. Later that night in the dark a car plowed into the back of the disabled trolley on Humbert!

Other than that and a couple of minor things..everything was wonderful. I don't think there was a dry eye during the father daughter dance..we had the DJ play Puff the Magic Dragon because that is what Lonnie always sang to the girls when they were little. In fact he had to sing along while they danced in order not to cry..so that was really one of many special moments of the night.

We even had a sort of famous wedding crasher..Joe Odom who played for the Bears..well actually his friend he was with crashed it but he turned out to be someone that grew up with the kids... so actually he was welcome.

Then lucky me..the kids surprised me with Eagle tickets so I went to that concert on Saturday..I had the best time and for a bunch of "old" guys they sounded fantastic and looked good too.

Now the newlyweds are honeymooning in Riviera Maya. I hear their resort is Fantastic and can't wait to hear all about it.
