Does anyone remember the Bucking Bronco? It was in all the parades near and far for many years, including the Labor Day Parade during the Bethalto Homecoming. The only faces I recognize from this picture are: (r-l) Jerry Unterbrink (on tractor), Charlie Aghetti (owned grocery store next to Kline's Drug Store), ?, Harry Darr, Dick Burch, ????

I always remembered it bein' at the Homecoming...don't actually 'remember' ridin' it but I bet I did...I kinda remember climbin' on it while it was sittin' still.

Wasnt it stored at the place Deb Parsons lived when she first moved to Bethalto? I remember that we always got a big kick out of that thing in the parade.

hope this helps someone....since this blog changed to require sign in to google in order to post....it's kinda been a pain for me....I just figured out that when it requests the user name & password, here on the blog....I had been trying to use the user & pw I had originally been using for the blog.....google wanted to use my email address w/ supplied pw.....I just tried to use my email address & password & it accepted it....w/out having to sign in on google....so if anyone else was having that problem....try your address as user name

I love this picture. I remember those guys always seemed to be having a great time!
I think we should resurrect it for the reunion and make sure Dennis gets a ride on it.
He's always looking out for us on this blog thing.
Thanks TALK!

This must be a senior moment as I want to say I've seen this, but I'm wondering if I'm dreaming? I can't put any specifics to it? How old would we have been?

I remember this thing being very hard to stay in the seat/saddle as a little kid with short legs. If I remember correctly, the rides left from the pavillion during the homecoming.

I wonder what happened to it....if it's still hiding in someone's shed/barn?....w/ umpteen years of dust on it....lol

LOL....It just hit me...Tim?...you & me have never had short legs...lol......we were roundball players.....;-)...& stood in the back when they were takin' pix....;-D

Talk exactly, as soon as I read the short leg comment from Tim, I thought Gesh, in his short legged years as a little kid his legs were probably longer than mine are today. Guess it all is a matter of perception from where you "stand"

Ain't it the truth, Bill......there's usually an up side and a down side to almost everything.....I've been way too aquianted w/ some low-flying doorways over the years.....

You guys are so funny. I knew that short leg comment would get a rise out of someone. Give me a break, I was a little kid a one point in life. Like you, Talk, I've become pretty adept at ducking in the doorways over the years.

Low-flying doorways??? I never had that problem and I always got stuck standing in front for stand up pics. Always hated that and still do. Can't get away with hiding behind someone for group photos. ;-)

I couldn't agree more, Bob. The only time I spent on the ships was packing them up in the early '80's for F-18 deployments and I remember saying then that I would not survive long on a ship with the hatches hitting me both low and high.
