2) College Crest Motel 1809 Burling Dr. Alton 618-465-3212 (right off of Hwy 140 going from Bethalto to Alton on the right just before the old Beltline Rd and Starlight Drive-in - been there forever)

Disclaimer: Condition of hotel/motel is unknown to me. I have no connections to anyone at any hotel and will not receive a kickback if you stay there - darn it!
Hopefully, everyone who needs a room will get one reserved quickly since the weekend in question is a holiday weekend.

Good job, Linda....hope everyone finds what they need....me?...I'm gonna be stayin' at 114 Old Bethalto Rd...like I always do when I'm in Illinois. Had thought if there was a hotel/motel next to the reunion location I could stumble there & not have to drive or wake my folks at whatever o'clock in the AM it might be...;-) ....the more I think about it the more I think I'm gonna try to con youngest bro Andy into letting me call him for a ride....lol I tell people that my folks still live in the same house they were building when I was born and still have the same phone number I learned as a little kid...only I learned it as CLinton 9-2397...it's helped my feeble mind to always be able remember their address & number over all these years.... by the way...how wuz the bbq yesterday?....was meanin' to call & got busy &....duhhhhh
Hey Linda, you may not get any kick-backs, but, on the other hand, you won't get any kicks if any of those places really suck. LOL I can't say for the other locations, but the area over by Hamel used to be pretty rough. We used to stop there on the way in to Cottage Hills.
Anyone bringing RV's, there is a nice place off 55 north of Marysville. Red Barn. Full hook-ups and reasonable. We stayed there a couple years ago and it was nice. A bit of a drive to Alton, though.
Good job Linda.
Know what ya mean, talk. My folks don't live there anymore, but I still remember the address, zip and phone number.
Any pics from the BBQ??
Oops - I didn't even think about taking any pictures until nearly everyone had already left! I'm pretty sure that I was yammerin' waaaaaaaaay too much, too.
Actually, everyone who was there has already been pictured on the blog with the exception of Debbie Vezzoli Spurgeon and her hubby, Greg. And, I'll get her profile/pictures posted in a day or two.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the BBQ - it was nice getting a chance to talk to everyone. Maybe we should say that what happens at the BBQ - stays at the BBQ! Just kidding.
My mom lives in the same house that my parents bought when I was nine months old. I remember the phone number was Dudley 9457. Now's it's 377-9457. Also, remember when it was a party line and you had to wait for your particular ring to answer it and HOPE no one else was listening in!
Thanks for the info, Rich. I didn't even think about RV's.
Hey St Louis Cardinal Fans, be sure to watch the Fathers day game versus The Oakland A's in Oakland. Pay close attention to the people sitting in the front row right behind Home Plate. There may be a CMHS graduate sitting there on Sunday.
Hey Bill,
My favorite thing to do while watching a game is to try to spot people I might know in the stands BUT I don't get to see very many Cardinal games down here. I have got tickets the weekend of the reunion that I am real excited about because I haven't been to the new stadium yet. Seams the nice person who had got us tickets in the past has quit doing that for us(hint to Dan). Anyway, if by chance it is on down here I will be looking for you.
Hey Bill,
Congrats on the choice seating -
I think you should prepare a sign telling us all "hi" or maybe something about the reunion!
just curious Bill, what colors will you be wearing?
Great question Lois...I am thinking I may wear an A's jersey with a Cardinal Hat...kind of a touchy situation since the A's are a partner, I know quite a few of the A's players, and the Cardinals are with the other company, but the Cards are my Original team....Maybe just a red shirt with an A's hat...It is a troublesome dilemma, thanks for asking.
That's what I'm here for Bill, to ask all the hard questions. I've already tevo'd the game, so I'll be watching...
I'll be on the lookout for you Bill. I'm still a Cards fan but I am also a Yankees fan. I nvere converted to being a true Braves fan though.
I'll never forget the first year I was down here was the year of the I70 series. I was beginning to think the only sport down here was football. There didn't seem to be any baseball fans here. It wasn't until I started working at the Medicare office in 1989 did I find another Cardinals fan. The husband of one of the ladies I worked was orginally from the St. Louis area. I finally found a bond with someone I could share "home" with.
Hey Talk and Linda. Funny but I remember my old phone number too. Dudley 4-8392. It must have been implanted into our brains when we were kids.
The Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn are booked solid. I am still stumbling around looking for a place to stay. We may have to stay further out of town. As long as I have my designated driver that will be OK. Any other hotel suggestions?
Mine was Dudley 9845... funny how something like that sticks your in your mind. Unfortunately my parents both passed away in 2003.
On to better thoughts...We have a nice Super 8 and a Best Western in Greenville straight up Route 140 (approx 50 minute drive.) Really its not a bad drive Don drives it every day to work. If you choose to visit here you are welcome to stop by our home in Greenville to visit (or any other time). See ya all at the Reunion! Marsha
marshakilmerackerman...what a cool name! Great to hear from you.
Our phone number was DUdley 8565. Isn't it odd that we all can remember these old phone numbers, but probably can't remember what we had for breakfast yesterday?
What's breakfast?
My old number was Clinton 9-6502
they drilled it into our heads. I still have the hole.

Bill,
Saw you in your green hat, red shirt. I thought for sure that you changed t-shirts around 7th inning stretch time, but family members reminded me that I'm as blind as a bat and the person I saw was not you. Their eyes are much younger than mine.
It was a great game and great to see you too.
I also spotted you Bill. What happened to you the seventh inning on? Don't tell me you're one of those Californian's that leaves early to beat the traffic!!!
Yea I was there with my three kids and left early. Not to beat traffic, though, the game was sloppy, and long, my daughter had a friends graduation party to go to, so we left so she could get to it. The A's woke the Cards up in this series. Maybe the Cards will start their charge now.
As most of you know, I work at KMOX Radio and we lost the Cardinals contract a little over a year ago. (It makes my job tons easier with them off our station but the listeners still wish we'd air the games.)
Well, we just received a company-wide email a few minutes ago stating "The KMOX Sports Department received first place from the MBA for its coverage of the Cardinals' World Series victory".
I wonder why the Card's own radio station didn't win that award???
Maybe the Card's need awakened in other areas as well?
Just stirrin' it up a bit!
