Oh, Christmas Tree, Oh, Christmas Tree

Even though I had a lot of family over for Christmas, I neglected to take ANY pictures (I guess I was concentrating on keeping the wheelchair out of everyone's way too much) so I snapped this one AFTER Christmas for my photo album. I'd prefer to have an angel on top but haven't found the "perfect" one yet. I guess I'm too picky.
One of Helen's gourd ornaments is slightly under the top ribbon and to the left of a long golden ornament.
Lights are white and purple and have been for at least 5 years and the ornaments are golden, milk white, handmade wooden reindeer that my parents made about 15 years ago, some smaller 12 days of Christmas ornaments that my son gave me one year and a Jack-in-the-Box on a reindeer ornament my son had as a youngster (but I really like reindeer so it went on the tree). Oh yeah, and some purple ribbon and a few purple bows.
Since Christmas was over, the only gift left under the tree (in purple Kitty paper) is my birthday present from my son and daughter-in-law.
I usually put the tree up in early December and take it down after New Year. One year, I was so busy working two jobs and going to appraiser school on the weekends that I left it up until April just around Easter. It's amazing what you can get away with when you live alone!
Ok, I'd showed you mine - now, show me yours!

The tree looks great. We always have lots of ornaments from the kids on our tree, too. Some are old and look as though they should have been thrown out, but they have HISTORY&TRADITION associated with them. I also like the way you hang your cards. Neat idea.
How did you manage to take that pic without the tree casting shadows on the wall?? Did you get help with the tree or was it already up before your fall?
HAPPY NEW YEAR and GET WELL SOON
Rich
Linda your tree is pretty..my ornie goes perfect with your colors..and I very seldom use blue or purple paint.
Our tree is already down..but don't think I took a picture of it this year..it's huge and loaded with 95% handmade ornaments from all over the country as well as Australia, New Zealand and Canada. I've been doing a handcrafted ornie exchange with an online group for several years now. Maybe there's a picture from one of the kid's cameras or I'll find one from last year.
Rich,
The tree was up and the lights were on as were a few of the ornaments - BEFORE I broke my ankle.
I can reach as high as Helen's ornament from the wheel chair so it wasn't too much of a problem.
My neice, Lori, hung the tree ribbon and my oldest neice, Wendi, hung the cards and ribbon for me. It wasn't my first choice but it worked.
I had no indoor lights on in the house and took the picture after dark. It was only lit from the flash from my digital camera. Guess I just got lucky with no shadows being cast.
I will start taking the tree down after New Year's Day. It's always been a family tradition to keep our trees up for our birthdays. It might take me several days but what else am I doing?
