This little Meadowbrook girl....

...rode her bicycle all the way from Neunaber St. in Meadowbrook to James St. in Bethalto in 1967.

Do kids ride bikes out of their neighborhoods anymore?

Could the Darr's have used some paint on that window sill?

Hey, Ken! Did you mention a thong contest?

Do we even dare ask for guesses about which feet belong to which classmate?

John Walker's Feet X 2
Divided by Cheryl Staicoff's Foot
X Gwen Vollintine's Foot
plus Sheila Stoddard & Gwen Vollintine's Feet
Equals 6 Civic Memorial High Student's Feet

May we mention how readily John Walker put those thongs on and how natural it was for him walking around in a one inch heel?
We must also mention that all of the ladies were scheduled for pedicures the following day, but the roving reporter camera caught them a day early.
One other point, it's not easy to wear a thong with pantyhose.

Here's one for your crush, Bill.

Even in her earlier years, prior to her move to Bethalto around 1965-66, this cutie was stopping hearts. Little did she know that when she entrusted this photo to a friend back then, that it would end up as reunion blog material many years later. Sorry, girlfriend. But in an effort to increase blog participation, all stops are out! If you'd have given me your naked baby photo, I would probably put it out here. I'll have to keep looking through my albums to see what else I can find.

Room Mothers

I always look forward to my Mom's cut out sour cream sugar cookies at the holidays. A few of you may remember these cookies from our grade school days because when it was Mom's turn to be room mother, she would bake these cookies for our class and personalize each one. Donna Fairless Kizer recently saw Mom and told her again how much she loved those cookies. -Gwen Darr Vollintine
Speaking of room mothers, can you name these Moms from Bill Stutz's sixth grade class at Bethalto Elementary?

CMHS graduate...NOT!

In town recently for the Thanksgiving holiday, Cheryl Davis Staicoff and her hubby, Mike, were captured by the fickle finger of fotography at The Airliner in Rosewood Heights. An Anhueser Busch distributor was also in the house gifting various AB paraphernalia, which explains how Mike ended up with two ball caps on in last week's mystery photo; it is not his usual holiday fashion statement.
It was great to visit with Cheryl & Mike and Dan Collman, as well as Steve & Jan Patton. What a nice concept that the current and the former spouses can throw back a few brewskies together, although Cheryl did ask me to sit between her and Dan as a buffer. :-)
Thanks to all who posted a guess on the mystery photo.
